The town’s location – just several kilometers from Kraków and right next to the historic “Wieliczka” Salt Mine – meant that the demand for comfortable accommodation was growing year by year. Initially, guests – mainly spa visitors coming to the Salt Mine – stayed in four rooms located in the owners’ private home, just behind the current Hotel Górsko building. The rooms were modest, but the warmth of the owners and the homely atmosphere ensured a steady flow of visitors. Over time, the private guest rooms signed a cooperation agreement with the Wieliczka Salt Mine to provide services for spa guests, which became a turning point. In 1999, the owners of the private accommodation on Górsko Street applied for a building permit to construct a motel with six rooms. Between 2004 and 2009, the property was gradually expanded and eventually adopted the name Hotel Górsko. This is how Hotel Górsko was created – its name inspired by the historic Górsko Shaft located just behind the hotel windows.
